This Privacy Policy explains how the Misty Mountains Wellness app (“the app”) handles information. The app is provided by Misty Mountains Counseling (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the app, you agree to this policy.
Anything you enter into the app — the name and contact detail you provide at setup, your mood check-ins, journal entries, reminder settings, and your preferences — is saved only in your own device’s local browser storage. It stays on your device. It is not sent to Misty Mountains Counseling, and we have no way to access it.
The app is delivered as a website through a third-party hosting provider (currently Netlify). As with any website, when your device loads the app the host automatically processes standard technical information — such as your device’s IP address, browser type, and request times — in its server logs in order to deliver and secure the site. This is ordinary web infrastructure. It is not combined with the personal information you enter into the app, and we do not use it to identify you. You can review our host’s practices in its own privacy policy.
If you turn on daily check-in reminders, the app uses your device’s own notification system to remind you at the times you choose. These reminders are generated locally on your device. No reminder information is sent to us.
The mobile app versions (installed from the Apple App Store or Google Play) include Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging service to support push notifications. When the app runs, Firebase generates a unique device registration token — a device identifier — that is processed by Google so that notifications can be delivered to your device. This token is not linked to your name or to anything you enter in the app, it is not used for advertising, and it is not used to track you across other apps or websites. You can review Google’s handling of this data in its own privacy policy.
The optional calming music is delivered as an audio file from our website. Playing it does not send us any personal information about you.
Because everything lives on your device, you stay in control. You can remove your information at any time by using Restore default settings or the profile reset inside the app, or by clearing your browser’s site data for mistymountainswellness.com. Removing the app from your home screen and clearing its site data deletes the stored information.
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — and, as described above, we do not collect personal information from any user. If a minor uses the app, we encourage a parent or guardian to be involved.
Misty Mountains Wellness is a general wellbeing tool. Information you enter into the app is not reviewed by, transmitted to, or retained by Misty Mountains Counseling, and it does not become part of any clinical or treatment record. Using the app does not make you a client of the practice. Please also read our Disclaimer.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version here.
